RE: On the topic of a "warranty" - I was exploring it

Also try these, I've had excellent service with no questions asked:
Route 66
Plus if you go to a Route 66 dealer, your deductible is only $34.

RE: Extended Warranty

Look at this one, have had very good service with only one denial, which, if I had read the book, I would have known about.
Route 66
They've covered furnace blower and thermostat, rebuild of Onan generator (big $$$$), replacement convertor charger, repair of steps and one HWH jack. Total cost to me, other than plan cost, was < $200.
Would I recommend it for a new unit... No, but for an older used MH, you bet.

RE: I-86 in new york

Just went across there in May. Has to be the roughest road I've ever been on. It is scenic, but thought MH would rattle itself to death. Left lane is the smoother.
Went to Ithaca from Chicago and came back home by dropping down to I-80, further but a lot better.

RE: Firefox & passwords

Romer1 - I've been having the same problem! Don't know what to do either...ya'll figure it out and let me know!
Turns out it was a corrupted profile.
Recommend using Foxmarks to backup your bookmarks, then you have to create a new profile and everything will work OK.
I got as lot of help from Ned here:

RE: Firefox & passwords

Sounds like cookies. What are you settings for deleting cookies. In FF 2, you have the option of deleting cookies when you close FF, I would imagine that this same option is available in FF3.
No, I've got cookies set to retain til they expire. And I'm set to be asked before deleting anything.

RE: Firefox & passwords

Check options, privacy, "Always clear my data when I exit Firefox." If that is checked then FF is deleting your cookies every time you quit. The cookies keep you logged into sites.
J
Nope, only things cleared are browsing and download histories and cache. Plus it's set to always ask before clearing.

RE: Firefox & passwords

sounds like you hit the wrong key and deleted them.I would say just put them back in and see if it work`s.
Nope, If I go to tools, options, security, saved passwords.. everything is there. I thought that's what I did at first.
Also, they are saved as long as I don't close Firefox.. if I go from here to some other sites then come back to rv.net, it'll just log me in.

Firefox & passwords

I've been using Firefox 3 since it became available with no problems up until yesterday. I had all my login user names and passwords saved so all I had to do was click on rv.net and it would automatically log me into this forum, etc. Don't know what happened but it does do that any more.
Anybody have any ideas?

RE: What have you repaired after buying a used unit?

Bought our's expecting some repairs. So far needed a tune up(plugs & wires), egr valve, 3 new tires(2 front worn because of misalignment, 1 nail puncture), furnace motor and convertor/charger replaced, generator rebuilt, 2 new house batteries and a new radio(because I wanted it).
Furnace, convertor/charger and generator all covered under extended service plan with $100 deduct.
Now if I can just get it waxed:)

RE: 94 Winnebago AC belts

I have a 94 Winnebago Adventurer with a Chevy 454 on a P30 chassis.
When I switch on my dash air, something under the hood is squeeling. When I switch it off, the noise stops. When I look through the front engine hood, I can't see the compressor. When I crawl under it, I can't see it either. I think I can see the PS pump with a 2 groove pulley. Tonight I hope to remove the dogbox cove and look from there.
All the belts seem to live in the extreamly hard to access area between the dogbox and the front hood.
Isn't the AC compressor on the top side and the PS pump on teh bottom near the gearbox?
Mine does the same thing and haven't figured out where it is, even with doghouse removed.

RE: Avoid Chicago

(double tap)
Wadcutter,
I appreciate the info. I dread having to go through or anywhere close to Chicago with the traffic and tolls.
Jerome B.
Since the I80 construction has been completed, you have 5-6 lanes each way and I have not hit any traffic the last few times thru there. (Weekday AM rush and Saturday PM).
Also, the only toll you pay is where 80 & 294 split.
The only construction is at the 80/65 junction and that's all on 65.

RE: Chicago to Memphis

I355 to 80 east to 57 south has next to zero traffic unless there's an accident. Take it every time we're headed south from Bolingbrook. Plus there's no construction as there is on 55 from Bbrook south to 80.

RE: Chicago area route advice needed

We're leaving Wednesday and will pass through Bad Lands- Mt. Rushmore and Yellowstone also.
Was thinking of taking I-80 through to I-29 (North) to I-90 West. Would like to stay out of the big cities.
Is I-80 a Toll Road West of Chicago??
Happy trails,
No, you just pay a toll where 294 & 80 split.

RE: Jeep Wrangler as a toad

Hello all,
We are considering purchasing a late-model (i.e., somewhere in the 2004 - 2008 year range) Jeep Wrangler. Whatever we buy, I would like to put it to occasional use as a toad on our RV trips. This would probably be 3 or 4 times a year, for a maximum of 10 days at a time. My plan would be to flat-tow it as opposed to using a dolly. There are a number of powertrain combinations available--2WD with auto transmission, 4WD w/auto, 2WD w/manual, 4WD w/manual--and I'd appreciate any advice on which is best suited to use as a toad. We don't plan on any real off-roading with it, so I'm not really concerned with that aspect of the powertrain; I really am interested in knowing which is most readily adapted to being towed and whether I should absolutely steer clear of one or more of these combinations for some reason.
Thanks, as always--
Bob
Any 4WD Wrangler can be flat towed by putting transfer case in Neutral. Complete instructions are in the owners manual.
